Description
The Exitex Intumescent Strip (Fire & Smoke Seal) is used with FD30 and FD60 single and double timber doorsets. Certifire approved, these seals are Fire Tested to BS 476: Part 22 and BS EN 1634-1 and Smoke Tested to BS 476 Part 31.1. Designed to expand to several times their original size when subject to high temperatures (thermal reaction +170°C), these seals provide an effective barrier against fire and smoke when correctly installed.
They are manufactured from a thermoplastic and graphite compound with the addition of fillers and process aids. The intumescent strip is encapsulated in a flexible PVC for an aesthetic finish and is supplied with a smoke seal and acrylic self-adhesive backing.
Please note, on thermal decomposition fumes will contain hydrogen chloride.
